I am absolutely in love with House's
Girard Fonts, especially those lovely slab serifs! However, I am totally obsessed with the goodies House put out to compliment the release of their newest font suite. The dolls were originally made in the late 1950s by
Marilyn Neuhart for her children.
Ray Eames eventually got ahold of one and asked Marilyn to make one for Alexander Girard. Girard loved them so much he asked Marilyn to make 100 of them for the grand opening of the new Textile & Objects store. The dolls became the centerpiece of the store when it opened in 1961.
